Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

National Signal LLC., the industry leader in the manufacturing of construction equipment primarily for the equipment rental industry, seeks a self-driven Regional Sales Manager to join our team. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for developing sales in an assigned territory and working with independent sales agencies, driving revenue growth by developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring achievement of sales targets for the company's equipment line within their region; this includes identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and providing leadership and coaching to the sales team to maximize market penetration and customer satisfaction. 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to expand market share within the region. 

  • Identify and target potential new customers within assigned territory.

  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at existing and potential customers. 

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify new business opportunities and market trends. 


Sales Execution:

  • Present product features and benefits effectively to prospective clients, demonstrating technical expertise on the equipment.

  • Prepare detailed sales proposals and quotations to meet customer needs.

  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with customers to close deals.

  • Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up on leads and opportunities, utilizing company CRM.

 Customer Relationship Management:

  • Provide excellent customer service to maintain long-term relationships with existing customers. 

  • Address customer concerns promptly and resolve issues effectively. 

  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional equipment and services to existing clients. 


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Track sales performance against targets, analyzing key metrics to identify areas for improvement. 

  • Generate comprehensive sales reports and provide insights to senior management. 

  • Monitor competitor activity within the region and adjust sales strategies accordingly. 


Sales Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of sales representatives within the assigned region, setting individual sales targets and goals.

  • Motivate, coach, and mentor sales team members to optimize performance and achieve sales objectives.

  • Conduct regular in-person sales meetings with sales representatives within the assigned region.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role within the equipment manufacturing and equipment rental industries.

  • Deep understanding of the equipment market, including technical knowledge of the company's product line. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with customers. 

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed decisions. 

  • Proven ability to build and manage a high-performing sales team. 

  • This position requires regional travel of approximately 60% throughout the assigned region, either by car or air as required. A pre-determined vehicle allowance is part of the compensation.

  • There could be extended travel to attend national trades shows as requested.

  • Fiscal responsibility and timely accounting of travel expenses is expected, standard travel and working expenses are reimbursed, per our corporate T&E policy.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, an assigned CRM, and associated computer skills is necessary.  A company laptop and cell phone is supplied.
